Ski-in/Ski-out in Zermatt: Why Haus Vira Is the Ideal Base for Your Ski Vacation

From our vacation apartments in Haus Vira, with breathtaking views of the Matterhorn, you can ski right up to the front door—and just as easily back down to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise valley station. For those who prefer to take the bus: The nearest bus stop is just 150 meters from the house. It’s about a 6-minute walk.

Straight from the slopes to our front door

If you’re coming from Gornergrat or Schwarzsee, you can—as long as snow conditions permit—ski along the trail all the way to about 30 meters from our house. No bus, no transfers, no long walk in ski boots.

And down to the valley station

The reverse route is also convenient: From Haus Vira, a path about 100 meters long leads down to the ski run. From there, the route continues directly to the valley station of the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise—the gateway to Europe’s highest-altitude ski resort.

A great starting point for active vacations—in winter and summer alike

This location makes Haus Vira an ideal spot for active winter sports enthusiasts who enjoy skiing right up to the house. And since those same paths become hiking trails in the summer—starting right outside our door—a stay with us is worthwhile all year round.
